Didn't Have a Leg to Stand on
I haven't contributed any photos to DR so far. I don't have anything like the regular material but maybe you'll enjoy the photo of a recent BKA (below knee amputation.) For the record, that's me, about two years ago. And you know what? That darned leg STILL hasn't grown back--I've got to ask the surgeon what the deal is.   · |

I asked the surgeon if I could have it in a jar, like tonsils or other small items, but she said I couldn't. I think she got tired of my trying to be funny. One day she came in--it was the third or fourth day I had been out of bed--and when she asked how I was doing, I said, in a bright happy voice: "I pooped in the potty like a BIG BOY!" |
