Diastasis Recti
Diastasis recti (also known as abdominal separation) is commonly defined as a gap of roughly 2.7 cm or greater between the two sides of the rectus abdominis muscle. Public health care is free in South Africa, but you have to accept that it probably won't be the best treatment. In his case, a bunch of students picking up some practical experience. Long story short, he got a bit butchered. He's currently looking into ways of getting his ab muscles reattached, but for the time being, this is what he has to live with. Pretty gross, eh? |
