Diabetic Polyneuropathy

A patient with diabetes fell asleep with his feet on the heater and received severe burns. Which later developed into gangrene

But how did he not feel anything? The answer is diabetic polyneuropathy. This is one of the common complications of diabetes mellitus, which is characterized by damage to peripheral nerves and, as a result, loss of their functions.
