Re: Deformed Babies.
3rd from last isn't a birth defect... unless you consider being born in Africa a defect! his belly is distended due to malnutrition and covered in flies because he walks naked in shit all day. |

Re: Deformed Babies.
I feel like I keep having to tell people on this site that nearly all genetic conditions are caused by random DNA mutations that have nothing to do with anything parents did wrong... why do people keep insisting that if a baby is deformed the parents must have done something to deserve it? You can blame the parents as much as you want, if it makes you feel like the world is a safer and fairer place, but it's a lie... almost all deformities are caused by random events. These parents didn't do something to "deserve" these babies. Radiation is a rather rare cause of deformation (more often causes cancer) and parental drug use is very harmful to babies, but does not cause deformities like these ones. Most genetic mistakes occur before the egg is even fertilized. People who insist that parents must be at fault would feel differently if the random odds swung against them and a fluke of genetics gave them a baby like this. Then how would they feel when people told them, "Oh, must've been all the drugs you did?" Do your research and stop trying to place blame... life is random and life can be cruel.
