i can't remember where i heard this explanation (very well could have been on this board!) but apparently during fetal development, we start like that, with the nose above like that. Then some gene (the Sonic Hedgehog gene, from what i gather from google. no i didn't make up that name) causes a cascade of events which separates the brain and the nose migrates down and separates the eye into two. sometimes Smith-Lemli-Opitz syndrome causes this cyclopia. Here's another thread that has some babies with this deformity. And here's a pig with the disorder (Smith-Lemli-Optiz syndrome has been diagnosed in other species than humans). ![]() i'm a nerd. |

Oh, I feel terrible, but I couldnt stop laughing. This forum has made me into another mean bastard lol. Kinda hoping hes not alive, though. That poor thing wouldnt have an easy life. |
