Craniopagus Twins
Craniopagus twins, are a rare type of conjoined twins where the heads are fused together. This condition occurs in about 1 in 2.5 million births. While craniopagus twins are born with various degrees of brain and skull fusion, surgical separation is possible in some cases, with advancements in neuroimaging, neuroanesthesia, and neurosurgery improving the chances of a successful outcome. |
