Conjoined Twins With Meningocele and Omphalocele
Conjoined twins are twins whose bodies remain physically joined after one embryo fails to divide completely. This is associated with late division of the embryo, more than 12 days after fertilization. The twins share a placenta and an amniotic sac, and the extent of their connection varies. Conjoined twins occur in approximately one in 50,000 to one in 200,000 births. Many are stillborn or die shortly after birth. Whether surgical separation can be considered depends on the type of union and which organs are shared. · · · · · · |

Re: Conjoined Twins With Meningocele and Omphalocele
well yeah, its your kid. even if it is all...messed up looking. if it was still alive though I'm thinking they'd take it straight to ICU. I'm guessing since the gut or whatever is hanging out, its very vulnerable to infection. |
