Compound Injury to Hand Following a Motorcycle Accident
This patient sustained trauma to his left hand during a motorcycle accident. A trough debridment with k-wire insertion was performed. The wound was sutured and held in a splint for 6 weeks. This was followed by gentle physiotherapy to improve movement in the fingers. The patient gained a good range of motion in the 5th, 4th, 2nd and 1st fingers, however his 3rd finger unfortunately remained stiff.
