During development of lip medial nasal process & maxillary process fuses to form lip, when they fails to fuse leads to formation of cleft lip & cleft palate. Here you can see a complete unilateral cleft lip. It is treated by Millard procedure.

They do but they don't have enough time or money to every kid/person. At least they try and do save many lives.

My dad was born with that but being here in the UK, he had corrective surgery in 1954

My grandson was born with a cleft lip and pallete. He's had two surgeries and looks awesome:)
