I’m pretty sure that’s an ileostomy, which means it’s attached to the small intestine. I had one for 3 months years ago. It doesn’t stink like poop. The smell is very mild and neutral. The output is liquid like these pics so easy enough to empty.

I quickly learned to not eat nuts. The end of the bag that you empty through is kind of like a ziplock. It’d take forever to get it cleared of tiny undigested nut pieces so I could zip it shut securely.

If I ate anything slightly gas producing it’d puff up, and I’d have to unzip it to release the gas.

I can’t figure out how to edit. Anyway, my stoma…..the intestine hanging out……was only about half an inch. Your digestive processes are continuous, so it was always moving.

Once a month we had to remove the ring part that’s stuck to the stomach that holds the bag, clean the skin, and put on a new one. Because it has to hold weight the adhesive used is powerful. By the last time we did it it felt like my skin was tearing off.
