Re: Colon Cancer
You can also be at high risk for colon cancer (and many other types) if you carry a particular gene in your DNA which causes it. Such as the BRAC gene can cause breast cancer in susceptible individuals. For genetically caused colon cancer the disorder is called Lynch Syndrome. I have it. I found out because my daughter was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 33. That is WAY on the young side for 'regular' colon cancer so her doctor suspected she had the genetic type. She had genetic testing and was positive for the Lynch Syndrome gene. After that we wanted to find which parent contributed the gene (only one parent need be affected to pass it on). I was tested first and was also positive. Immediately I had a colonoscopy and was found to have precancerous cells so I was advised to have my colon removed. My daughter had a rough year of surgeries, radiation and chemo but she survived. We are in year 4 of waiting to get to the magical 5 year, no recurrence point. Fingers crossed and praying daily! PS. Lynch Syndrome can cause several other cancers but so far so good for both of us. Nobody else in our family tested positive.

Re: Colon Cancer
If one or more of the direct relatives has had colon cancer,( mother, grandmother, father, grandfather, sister so on) then you are 25% more likely to develop colon cancer and it's 50% more likely if more than one person in the family has had the disease . If there is a history of colon cancer in the family, it would be wise to get colonoscopy procedures early, very early,my daughter will get her first at 19 . Very high risk. It could save your life, so easy to catch it before it becomes cancer, if your aware . Early detection will save your life, and save you and your family a lot of pain.

Re: Colon Cancer
Anyone who doesn't already know, or who may have a loved one fighting colon cancer, get your medical marijuana patient card immediately threw your oncologist, locate dispensaries in your neighborhood and get the oil, even the wax works great, ingested filtered threw the kidneys, smoked. Whatever. Helps white blood cell count( helps regulate white blood cell count) helps with chemo, helps with pain, helps with diet and sleep. So beneficial to colon cancer patients in any stage of the fight, please look into it yourself if your skeptical .
