A wolf licking him in the face wouldn't cause that; NOMA would: NOMA (cancrum oris or gangrenous stomatitis), is a gangrenous disease leading to tissue destruction of the face, especially the mouth and cheek.   Malnutrition, dehydration, poor oral hygiene, poor sanitation, unsafe drinking water, proximity to unkempt livestock, immunodeficiency disorders, (including AIDS) are some of the predisposing factors.
