Kind of reminds me of my late teens when I was a shoe salesman, and the hundreds of obese women that literally wanted me to force their fat feet into the tiniest of shoes. Some even going as far as saying the shoe is wrong, and not their feet. |

Did you work at Payless, or what But seriously, they were probably just embarrassed. A lot of obese people (women in particular) don't realize how big they've gotten until they go to do something they've done a hundred times before and find that their weight prevents it. A good friend of mine had her wake up call when she went to carnival and was told she was too big to go on one of the rides. She grew up in an obese family and had a somewhat distorted view on body size. She thought because the rest of her family were heavier than her that she 'wasn't that bad'. Very humiliating experience for her. She's lost a lot of weight since then, (but unfortunately not in a very healthy manner... |
