Friends of mine had a child with this illness. She wasn't supposed to live past 6 months, but she lived for 4 years. She never got very big and she had to be fed with a syringe. It was horrible. She rarely made any sounds at all.

i used to work in a care facility for kids with issues like this. Now that they have the shunt technique figured out, we won't see much of this in the future.
