Re: Cataract Surgery
i just had cataract surgery in my left eye done last month. plus the natural lens was removed and an IOL (intraocular lens) was put in. i was somewhat awake during the procedure and it was totally painless (unlike the procedure when my retina detached) and also no pain afterwards.

Re: Cataract Surgery
Cataracts are more common that people think. It is relatively very easy to treat. Alot of people are paritally blind or completely blind in third world countries due to cataracts. Some awesome Doctors travel to such places and, usually funded by a charity, treat these people for free. Such an act can change these people lives as they are then able to farm, collect food and water to support their families without the visual disability |

Re: Cataract Surgery
I can't watch anything to do with eyes. I'd love to get Lasik surgery, but, I'm afraid the doctor would sneeze or something and I'd lose my sight completely. My dad had cataract surgery and saw much better. The eye doctor wants my mother to have it at 76, but, she picks and chooses what tests and surgeries she'll have. I wish she'd do it because she had a stroke in 2004 and can't legally drive due to loss of peripheral vision and slow reflexes, but, she's afraid to walk outside because she thinks she'll fall. I've fallen due to nerve damage, but, I refuse to stay down and I can still drive :) |
