Re: Cancerous Lungs

Damn, look how black and resinated those lungs are... gross, it's like it was dipped in a bucket of tar

I believe there is tar in cigarettes.

I know they leave a film on the inside car windows and the walls of houses.

I can always tell if someone smokes in their vehicle and house, but, I'm sensitive to everything.

Some smokers reek of the cigarette smell and have bad breath and some don't, just like coffee drinkers.

Two bosses I used to work with both smoked. They'd go on breaks together. The Grateful Dead fan didn't reek. The other guy did. I think he liked blues, if memory serves.

Yeah, any time of burning object/smoke will build up into a nasty tar.

Re: Cancerous Lungs

I used to be a bit of a smoker, and funnily, the smell on my fingertips and the taste was exactly what I LIKED about smoking! Each to their own eh? I only stopped when I started running, and replaced one addiction with another.

I've been trying for so long to stop smoking, always unsuccesfully, until I tried to have some sort of a ''trick'' to disgust me from the cigarette. It may sounds weird but everytime I finished a cigarette I would sniff my fingers and thought that they smelled so bad that eventually even the smell of smoke and taste of the cigarette itself would drive me away. Don't give up guys, anything could work

Re: Cancerous Lungs

If I still smoked? That pic wouldn't had stopped me from smoking...
People that fall into the nicotine trap usually don't escape it..
And pictures like these do not affect an addicted smoker.

My Mother has COPD and Emphysema due to cigarettes, Still smokes 3 packs + / day.. can barely walk anywhere..
And the irony behind it? Her and I watched my grandfather die from Lung, throat and stomach cancer.. Trachea tube and all, was still smoking.. Died at age 69. 8 days before my 10th birthday 1990.

Still a cool picture though, like that the lungs are inflated by the pipe in the trachea.

Almost 3 years since I quit.. Still crave a smoke at least once a week, if not at least once a day..
i came from a similar family. my grandfather died of emphysema, my mother continued to smoke heavily. by the time she was 58 she was bedridden from emphysema and died 3 years later. for whatever reason tho i detested cigarettes for as long as i can remember and i never started the addiction. my sister has picked it up tho and has been in its grasp for almost 30 years now.
