Did they put the right head back on? Reminds me of Frankenstein. No offense intended to your friend, Angelahh.

Re: Cancer Sucksss

Because the thyriod is located in the neck and because the cancer could have been "connected" to other structures within the neck an incision has to be made that big to ensure safe removal of all the cancer and the preservation of other structures around it, ie the major blood vessels etc and also maybe so surrounding lymph nodes can also be tested for cancer...

Re: Cancer Sucksss

Probably removed surrounding tissue and lymph glands hence the large incision. Hope he recovers

Re: Cancer Sucksss

Good Christ, what med school reject did that surgery? I've had it and my incision was placed in a natural neck crease and is only from one side of the neck to the other without going behind my fucking ears!

Re: Cancer Sucksss

Cancer sucks indeed ... My 6 year old son had a brain tumor removed in the beginning of November this year. He's in radiation with chemo for 30 days, then he'll get 6 weeks off, followed by 6 months of more chemo. His tumor was the size of a small pear his doctor said.
