C-section

Surprising how many people haven't seen a C-section.

Re: C-section

It's pretty fascinating to watch.

My youngest son was born via c-section. When the nurse brought me into the OR after they had started,I could see everything that was going on because they inadvertently forgot to raise the curtain. The doctor saw my eyes widen in surprise when I walked in, and he told the nurse to raise the curtain ASAP to block my view.

Re: C-section

Surprised you were not in before they started. Not a typical approach.

Re: C-section

I had 2. The first was emergent, and at the time I had my second, I had to schedule it. However for my second, the nurse was AWESOME and took pictures of all of it!

It was like that for my older son, too, and they're 12 years apart.

Re: C-section

Oh wow, it's weird to be on the other end lol. Ive had 6 cesarean sections and each time the curtain was up to block what was going on which was always a blood squirting bloodbath lol. But I recall with my last son I was able to see the distant reflection of what the doc was doing on the light fixture above me. It was too gory so I turned my cheek. I love gory stuff but when you see your own innards being fondled it's a different feeling altogether!

You women are amazing to me. What you must go through carrying us for 9 months, birthing us, putting up with all the changes to your body as a legacy of the pregnancy. I always say that if Men were the ones who had to do or go through what you do in order to bring children into the world - then there would be a LOT LESS people on this planet. Because God knows, I couldn't do it !!
