Like I said, in burns that extensive, it's highly likely that most of the nerve endings were destroyed, and is not, HOPEFULLY by that point any compassionate physician would have loaded the poor guy up with morphine so that he wouldn't feel anything. Escharotomies as almost exclusively done on patients with full thickness burns, it's a way of sort of "loosening" the upper layers of tissue so that the patient doesn't develop compartment syndrome, which is life-threatening in and of itself without having to worry about the burns. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Escharotomy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compartment_syndrome |

Here is where I sign the DNR form... Infact? sign me up for one of those half assed experimental lethal injections the states give out that the prisoners claim cruel and unusual punishment to... Damn man... This or beheading, not sure which way would be worse.. |

Thats about as bad as a fucked up day can get and leave you still breathing....the compression on the chest as the skin/fatty tissues contract must be tremendous and no doubt would result in suffocation as the skin shrinks and sets solid!
