Brutal Thumb Injury Repair
Severe thumb injury due to a rotavator with a complex fracture, a tendon injury and loss of skin: The tendon has been repaired: The index finger is being dissected to raise a skin flap to cover the back of the thumb wound: The skin flap has been raised ready to be moved with its own artery and vein: The flap has been moved over to the thumb and the wounds stitched: The area of the skin from the back of the index finger has been covered with a skin graft: Healing at 2 weeks post-operatively. Note complete take of the skin flap and skin graft: |
