In the suicide case of N.N. and his wife in Phaltan, in India's Maharashtra state, his brother D.N. has taken a drastic step as he felt the police investigation was not speeding up. D. filmed himself chopping off his left index finger, saying he would present a part of his body to the Home Minister of the state every week.

N.N. and his wife had killed themselves on the 1st by jumping off a balcony. In a suicide note and video taken just before the act, N. blamed eight former and current assistants of local political leaders, who had apparently repeatedly harassed and intimidated N., who was also the PA of a local leader. Four of those named in the note have been arrested.
