Breast Reduction
Breast reduction surgery is a plastic surgery procedure that reduces the size and changes the shape and position of breasts. It's performed by removing excess breast fat, skin, and glandular tissue. Breast reduction surgery can help relieve discomfort and painful symptoms associated with large breasts, such as: Muscle strain Soreness Skin breakdown Back, neck, and shoulder pain Difficulty exercising Grooving from bra straps Rashes beneath the breast The procedure involves making three incisions around the areola, down to the crease under the breast, and across the lower crease of the breast. The nipple and areola are then moved to a higher position. Breast reduction surgery is usually an outpatient procedure, but patients will need to take some time off from work or school to recover. The average cost of breast reduction surgery is $7,800, but this doesn't include anesthesia, operating room facilities, or other related expenses. Patients should talk with their medical practitioner about the risks and benefits of breast reduction surgery. |

Re: Breast Reduction
Getting the drainage tubes taken out was the weirdest sensation (and pain). My first was done in 1995 at age 17, then two more to try to fix his miscalculations. He made me smaller than I wanted, too. My doc was also a microvascular surgeon. I had the nipples removed, unlike this lovely lady, and put back on twice. I still have feeling in my nipples. Not a lot, but the fact I have any is remarkable. At least he could do part of his job right.
