Oh u fucking tards that say that religion is stupid or so on, even that tradition (among many others) brings something to admire for to the culture, this is FUCKING painful but evenso, chinese culture is something to respect!! Apparently it became the trend when a concubine of an emporer had her feet bounded which made them look tiny and she walked with a wobble in her step which made her seem vulnerable and dainty. Only women from privileged families then had their feet bounded. They would have servants (whose feet escaped this torture) who would hold them steady as they walked. The foot is pretty much broken in half with the toes snapped under the sole and then bounded with strips of cloth. Soaking those feet in hot water were the only way most of those ladies could temporarily relieve the pain from these so-called " three-inch lotuses ". Boy am I glad I was from a modern era and born into a Russian-Chinese eurasian family...

And to think, this is still an accepted practice there. Women there do it to be 'more beautiful and attractive' to men. They're screwed when they come to the US with those feet!!!
