There was a guy who had a stroke in his brain stem (extreme rare) and he had Locked In Syndrome. He could only control his left eye and through a series of blinks he dictated a memoir, sort of an apology for being obsessed with work. He died just after the book was released. Its called "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" and was made into a movie, as well.
