Re: Bitten by Her Pitbulls

The problem with these animals is they arent a "pure" breed; theyre basically a mongrel, you know, a Heinz baked bean, 57 varieties!!! You really are playing Russian roulette by owning one of these animals; youve no idea of the breeding, or bloodline, no way of knowing if aggressive traits are bred into the dog etc. The only reason most owners have these beasts is a show of machismo, a sort of "badge of honour". Sad people.

Isn't that true for any dog you acquire that doesn't have papers, or even more, that you haven't personally met the parents of?

American Pit Bull Terrier is a real, registered breed. I've got one.

You can have shitty purebred dogs that look and/or act nothing like how the breed is supposed to be.

If the breeder isn't carefully choosing the traits to breed, the dogs get farther and farther from the breed standard.

It happens in all breeds. That's why, if you want a purebred dog, you do your homework(lots of it!). You don't go to someone selling pups and take their word for it that they have good dogs.

Yeah I get what youre saying, I really do. However I do think its best to err on the side of caution with these dogs, for sure. I wouldnt have ever left matches or a lighter in view of my kids; the chances are they WOULDNT touch them, but they MAY have, do you see what I mean? Best to be safe than sorry.

I know; who'd have thought it eh?

Now wait for the avalanche of "Pitbull Defenders" posting like mad in defence of their urban tigers.

Re: Bitten by Her Pitbulls

"Pure" pit bulls, I guess like Spuds McKenzie...insofar as I know they are not quite as vicious as pity bulls who have had some form of mastiff or other "fighting" dog bred into them, especially dogs from South America, like Presa Canarios, Dogo Argentinos, Fila Brasileiros......

Re: Bitten by Her Pitbulls

As long as it's the owner that gets attacked, it's not so bad since it's their own fault.

I really can't stand it when the owner's idiocy and denial gets innocents mauled and/or killed.

Re: Bitten by Her Pitbulls

Get in the middle of a serious fight between two Labradors/poodles/golden retrievers ect. And see what happens.

You're gonna get messed up, or even killed.

fighting is a natural behavior for canines. Doesn't make them unstable. It just means they don't like the dog they're being forced to live with.

It's up to the owner to keep them separated and safe.

If you are allowing the dogs to come into contact with each other, you are creating a dangerous situation for not only them, but any person who tries to intervene.

All dogs are dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.

Too many idiots have dogs.
Well said
