Birth Defects in Vietnam Attributed to Agent Orange
Birth defects in Vietnam have been attributed to Agent Orange and its dioxin component, but the causal link remains contested. Vietnamese studies and advocacy groups attribute widespread congenital anomalies to dioxin exposure. The US Department of Veterans Affairs recognizes only spina bifida, excluding spina bifida occulta, as associated with Agent Orange exposure in children of Vietnam or Korea veterans. It also covers birth defects in children of women Vietnam veterans based on their service, but says those defects are not related to herbicide exposure. In its review released in March 2016, the National Academies rated the evidence linking parental exposure to every birth defect as inadequate or insufficient, including spina bifida. |

Children paying for the mistakes and misdeeds of others. Very disturbing and sad.
