Re: Bedsores (Decubitus Ulcer)
My mother had bedsores in her last months, even tho she did sit up to eat or watch TV, and get up to go to the toilet. Eventually she was failing at all 3. I was surprized that you don't have to be totally bedridden to have bedsores (curiously parallel to the 3 degrees of heat burns).

Re: Bedsores (Decubitus Ulcer)
no you don't have to be bedridden to get pressure sores, and the explanation at the beginning was great. the pic, as horrific as those bedsores look, actually they look 'great' for healing bedsores...no outward evidence of infection, looks clean (however looks can be deceiving) and has 'fairly' beefy tissue coming up...but this sore will take an extremely long time to heal, if it ever does...and its very sad that this could've EASILY been prevented had this person been turned and changed regularly. its how superman died, you know |
