I had the biggest urge to take a needle and just.. Gladly it was popped today! When they peeled the dressing off it was maybe half drained and I could jiggle the liquids inside. It was cool.

Could've been worse, could've been grease!
Hmm. I'll take that into consideration when I go back to work.

Re: Battled with Hot Water

I'm assuming this happened in restaurant kitchen. If not? no worries.. sucks just the same.

I worked about 11 or so years in foodservice.
I had a scare similar to this when I was 17 working at a steakhouse that had a "wing night".
Went to empty a fryer out. inexperienced and dumb, I managed to push the bucket out of the way with my foot.. Emptied half of the fryer, oil still 350ºF oil on my foot..
Quick thinking saved me.. had my shoe off my foot less than 4 seconds and didn't get burned.

Throughout the years I witnessed many people burn their foot the way you did.. Carrying a pot of boiling ass water across kitchen, something somehow slips and pot of hot water on their leg/foot..
Every single one of them never even try to get the shoe off until it was too late..
(One guy I worked with... cooking 10 lbs. of penne pasta.. dumped a 20 gallon pot on his foot.. left shoe on... 2nd and 3rd degree burns...)
Hazardous work... You deal with sharp, hot and sometimes heavy objects in a fast paced high volume environment.. not to mention it's hot and humid at all times.. except when you walk into a cooler..
And the extra bonus.. the floors tend to get "Break a neck" slippery even with slip resistant flooring/shoes.
(wet greasy floor.. ever hear of the Ice Capades? I used to refer to it as the Death Capades.)
Then there is the cleaning/chemical side of things.. restaurant grade degreaser tends to be nasty shit not to mention all the other fun stuff you come into contact with.. (Usual degreaser in Restaurant kitchens, the main/active ingredient in it is sodium hydroxide.., also known as Lye...think Fight Club... you'll find it in Easy Off oven cleaner in "weaker" strength..)

Take care of that. hope it heals up nice... and remember if there is a next time..first thing to do upon spilling anything hot on your shoe with enough of liquid to soak it.. take it off asap!

It's a lunch restaurant at a family park/small zoo. I got my sick leave extended yesterday so more free time for meeee.

HERE'S THE VIEW FROM TODAY.

No signs of infection so it's healing up quite nicely. The skin was cut off yesterday and the pain was immense due to the nurse putting on too little burn cream and bandaged it poorly. I had to hop on one leg all day and this morning since I couldn't step on it. All good now though!
