It's a prolapsed stoma. (Read magenta's excellent description of a stoma a few posts above) In other words, the bowel has prolapsed ie, turned inside out like a sock...It's hanging there dripping ky jelly-probably from a few unsuccessful attempts to manually reduce the prolapse. That sucks to have to live life with a damn colostomy bag (shit-bag) attached to your body! But I guess there's worse things, eh?
