Any female, even virgins, can get it. BV is basically just an overabundance of the normal bacteria present in the vagina. Extremely common. Although that pic is an extreme case. Most often, the patient presents with foul smelling discharge, itching, and irritation. Some have no symptoms at all and find out after a routine pap. Oh, and it is NOT an STD- common misconception.

This technique was not the way I was taught to sniff. I was taught to hold it in front of you and wave your hand, to push the scent towards you... not directly under the nose. Hey, wasn't there a video of some chic checking herself during class  She sure didn't use a q-tip  Someone should link the video... PARA??? I'm being lazy
