Re: Baby with Most of His Brain and Skull Missing Celebrates 1st Birthday

Do people pick at micro and anencephalic babies more than other babies with birth defects because of some underlying insecurity about their own brains? I see it again and again, like is it some shit to assert their superior amount of gray matter?

Perhaps a baby like that, who is loved, and who maybe brings some tender truth to others, may do more good in the big picture than any of the empty shits that would mock him, or try to bring his existence down.

His life - worthwhile. All the internet shitters lives put together - Not so much.

Re: Baby with Most of His Brain and Skull Missing Celebrates 1st Birthday

I love his huge blue eyes. I am so glad we were able to see a video of him talking and interacting with his parents. After reading some of the comments it sounded like he was not able to experience joy or love. I would not have made the same choice. I am not sure what that says about me.

The pictures make him seem like a squishy, unaware lump.

The video shows something much different. He seems like a mostly normal acting baby. His movements and awareness seem to be normal, as does his vocalizations.

A career in acting perhaps?

Anyway, I'm sure they can probably 3d print some kind of cranial dome for him down the line. Would be interesting to see updates in years to come.

Jaxon passed away April 1, 2020.

Jaxon Buell, the boy who was nicknamed “Jaxon Strong” for his determination to live after he was born with an extreme brain malformation, has died. He was 5.

"He passed away in my arms and surrounded by his parents and family who were loving on him and providing comfort and endless hours of snuggles throughout his final days," Brandon Buell, 35, his father, told TODAY in an email.

"Ultimately, Jaxon passed away from his body and organs shutting down, as is common with children like him. This had absolutely nothing to do with the COVID-19 virus, but was something we always knew from the beginning would likely happen. We just didn't know when."

Jaxon recently entered into hospice care at home after showing signs of slowing down in the past year or so, and the family was preparing to say goodbye, his dad added.

He is cute but I don’t agree with this. I know this site is full of trump loving degenerates who believe abortion is a sin and an act of defiance against god or some stupid shit like that, but drop the gimmick for a second and tell me this kid is gonna survive and if he does shits gonna be easy for him. All of that could have been avoided had the pregnancy been terminated but nope. The morals of these people resulted in this cruelty.

Re: Baby with Most of His Brain and Skull Missing Celebrates 1st Birthday

Cute or not- having the knowledge that this life is going to be nothing other than a beating heart in a sack of flesh is pretty damn selfish of those parents. It's great they are happy and feel good for their "little man"- but for their own selfish reasons, this child has to endure this shitty life so they can feel good about themselves. Fucked up. This child has NO life, he has no thoughts, he has no dreams, he has nothing- but at least he's cute right? smh

If he has no consciousness or thoughts then what life will he suffer? If this deformed retarded baby is just a sack of flesh that can't think, feel pain, fear death etc then who gives a fuck if he is alive. If he is conscious and can "suffer" then would abortion still be the right move?

I guess you see the baby as a goldfish in a bowl. Right?

Re: Baby with Most of His Brain and Skull Missing Celebrates 1st Birthday

This will sound harsh but is it fair to a child to be born unable to think or feel or enjoy life? These are the basic elements of life. I look at that poor baby and see nothing in his eyes. No one is perfect but when there is absolutely no quality of life you have to put your own feelings and religious beliefs aside.
