Re: Baby Girl's Skull Crushed by Forceps Delivery...
My brother and I were both forcep babies. We both look like we had been in a head on collision with the swelling and bruising on our faces but my brother was way worse than me. His eyes were swollen shut and bruised. It's sad, he entered this world violently and left it in the same way. I feel so bad for this little one and the parents. I can't imagine having the most magnificent experience you could ever have in your life turn into the worst heart breaking experience of your life all in a matter of minutes. It's just awful!

Re: Baby Girl's Skull Crushed by Forceps Delivery...
Horrifying. My daughter was a forceps after pushing for 2 hours and getting nowhere. Her heart rate was dropping and I was getting exhausted so they used the forceps. She had a cone head for a week and bruising on her face but other than that she was perfect. Cannot imagine going through what those parents are going through right now. Very sad.

Fuck how the delivery was (squats, laying down, yoga position, vagina to the sky), definitely a medical malpractice. Cannot begin to think of what the parents are going through.

Re: Baby Girl's Skull Crushed by Forceps Delivery...
I didn't think so either. My son was delivered with a short umbilical cord. During the last phase of delivery, every time my wife pushed, his heart rate would drop due to the cord. So they used the suction device to help get him out quickly and minimize the danger of the short cord. The suction device looked kind of like a pink-colored cup like those on emergency O2 masks you see on commercial airlines, only sans bag and includes a handle. |

Re: Baby Girl's Skull Crushed by Forceps Delivery...
My son was delivered via forceps, even though he should have been a csection. We were VERY lucky that the dr didn't cause any damage to him, because he was so big and was stuck in the birth canal. It amazes me that they still use those things, considering how dangerous they can be.
