A GIRL of three born with a bright red “clown” birthmark on her nose has had life-changing surgery to remove it.

Connie Lloyd was a day old when her parents Zara and Tom, both 24, spotted a tiny red dot on her nose which – over the next month – grew to almost completely cover it.

Connie suffered much name calling until Zara and Tom found a surgeon who could remove the growth – a benign tumour called haemangioma. Now Connie is looking forward to starting pre-school in two weeks’ time.

Zara, from Slough, Berks, said: “By the time Connie was four weeks old her nose was a perfect clown’s nose. I would hide her to avoid people making comments.

“When she came out of the operation she said her nose was like her mum’s.

“Now it’s nice not to have to deal with the cruel comments.’’
