Re: Baby Born Still In Amniotic Sac

Do you have any idea how a woman's body works during pregnancy and when giving birth? Obviously not. A baby is alive in it's mother's womb when it's inside the body, why would it be any different outside the body?
It isn't. When the baby is still in the sac, he/she doesn't know he/she is born.

I was just reading about these births. Rare, but, they do occur and some babies do survive.

Re: Baby Born Still In Amniotic Sac

If the umbilical cord has not been cut, then the child is in no immediate danger. I don't mean to leave it this way for any length of time, but there was certainly time for someone to snap a few pictures before the doctor removed the sack and cut the cord. I hope that it was a healthy baby. The second one of course is not viable.

Re: Baby Born Still In Amniotic Sac

My brother was born in a caul, vaginally. In superstition it's considered lucky, and that the baby will have beautiful skin. (he has the best skin and hair out of all of us, lucky fecker).

Re: Baby Born Still In Amniotic Sac

Someone commented about the cord being wrapped around the baby's neck. This in itself is not of a concern. The newborn is receiving oxygen through the cord, not the trachea.

A "nuchal cord" is only fatal in around 1% of nuchal births. That means of 100 born with it round their neck, only 1 case presented a problem and it would have been more complicated than just "cord round neck".

In fact it's very common and rarely ever means a baby is in danger.

Also, much like being born in the caul, babies born underwater will continue to keep their mouths and lungs closed and "breathe" through the cord. This is why mothers birthing in water MUST keep their backsides under the water, as if the baby's face breaks the surface before its fully out then the shock of air can trigger the reflex to begin breathing normally.
