Re: Babies Joined At The Abdomen

These babies i think are around 24weeks. My son was slightly bigger when born at 28.

Re: Babies Joined At The Abdomen

I work in an NICU. These babies look to be about 24-26 weeks. Eyes still fused is the giveaway for me. That being said, they could be closer to 28 weeks and just underdeveloped. I would put money on them being less than 27 weeks though.

Re: Babies Joined At The Abdomen

Ya, cause living life like that would be just great !
Bit late in replying to this, but only just found your reply to my comment.

My reasoning for hoping those babies weren't aborted because of being joined at the abdomen was based purely on the fact that separating babies joined at the abdomen is a relatively straightforward procedure. Unlike babies joined at the head, although that's possible too.
I think they could've been separated, that's all.

Re: Babies Joined At The Abdomen

It depends on each case and which organs they do or don't share. I only see three legs, although I've seen conjoined twins live with that when separated. I don't think they're full term either.

The first conjoined twins I know of, Chang and Ang, I believe their names were, were joined only by a band of skin.

The oldest males and females in the US wouldn't be separated, if they could. I believe the males live in WV, Donny & Lonny, and the women, Dory & Lori, in PA.
