Strange to me how a Dr. would allow someone who is ungloved/ unmasked/undraped to hover over a sterile field while he is performing a procedure.  |

I think I'd tell them "Screw the lidocaine, screw the sprays and things to numb the area, knock me the hell out before you touch that thing, I'll take the risks of being under general anesthesia!"

Had to get lidocaine injections a few months ago before getting stitches. It hurts, but not that much!! Geez, what a baby!!

i still wonder why doctors hesitate to give some 80 mg of oxycodone in such a case... just once for hells sake istead they fuck around with lidocaine. Would make it so much easier for the patient. And by the way: never recap - use a throw off box. |

Seen the puss? That means it's infected, so it's incredibly fucking painful. I'm guessing your stitches didn't go on an infected skin area? Plus it also matters where it is on your body. That part of your arm is really quite tender. I remember getting lidocaine injections when I got my contraceptive implant and it hurt like fuck(and I am a frequent operation room patient, due to facial surgeries), nevermind getting it somewhere that sore and infected. |
