ATV/Crush Injury
My son tipped an ATV with a roll cage. He tried to catch himself, and ended up dislocating his elbow. Miraculously, he only had a small fracture on the inside of his elbow. The hospital reset his elbow, placed it in a soft cast and told us to follow up in two weeks. When I say that after a few days the cast started to smell so badly.. we changed out as much as we could with no success of getting the smell gone. I couldn’t figure it out. Turns out, the bar of the roll cage had come down and crushed his arm resulting in a crush injury that sat and festered the entire time we were waiting to follow up. He is now left with a crazy scar and permanent tissue loss along with limited movement in his arm due to the inability to heal the fracture normally. |
