What caught my attention in this case was that age, smoking, even if it was good to ask if you have lost weight, how long it has lost a family history of cancer and see if a tumor is malignant or benign, the fistulas can be repaired in the operating room and touched me so to see cases in gay men.

My Dad (R.I.P) was a heavy smoker from the age of 18 ... From 18 years to 40 years of age he smoked up to 20 cigs per day ... From 40 years to 74 years of age he smoked up to 40 cigs per day ... Then when we sadly lost Mum he smoked between 60 & 80 cigs a day (he would be lighting another one ready off the end of the one he was about to put out) he smoked that amount for about 8 months but he started to feel a little 'strange' and he passed out (I know I'm not suprised either) when the Dr came he said to Dad "you need to quit smoking - you're heart is not doing too great and smoking is making it worse" ... From that day on my Dad, a smoker of 56 years NEVER touched a single cig as he didn't like how 'strange' he felt ... not even 3 WEEKS later my Dad passed away from a heart attack - just 9 months after we'd lost Mum. Both my Husband and myself and my Sisters believe that his quitting smoking after all that time caused him more harm than good - It's been 15 months since he passed and I'm not saying he would definitely still be here if he smoked but if he was here he would've seen the newest addition to the family ... his GREAT - GREAT GRANDAUGHTER Izzie :0).
