My ex-husband was anorexic. I say was because I haven't seen him in about 7 years. In his case it was mental. He wanted to be in control and his weight was the only thing in his life he could control himself. He lived on cigarettes, caffeine and pain pills. He was hospitalized twice.

When he first started getting really thin I joked with him and said he had better gain some weight because I was afraid when we went to bed at night if he rubbed his legs together he would start a fire. My bad. He is a pathalogical liar, though and also a huge cheater.

Holy shit, it's almost like we married the same asshole. Mine lived off coffee and cigarettes, beat the shit out of me, drank like a fish, cheated nonstop (with fat girls ironically), and weighed 110 soaking wet.
