Re: Anorexic (borderline) Pregnant - Stages
Totally - she's just skinny. That's how I looked in my 20's and I wasn't anorexic at all. Not even an anorexic in denial...lol. Funny thing is, if she had big boobs and the rest of the body was exactly the same, no one would call her anorexic (despite the fact that a million actresses and models have exactly that body - Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie, etc).

And to add my 2 cents...its just as annoying to be slim/petite and have anyone who struggles to loose weight sour-grape-edly assume you are a sick, miserable neurotic who lives in deprivation...as it must be for someone more voluptuous to have people assume you have no "self-control."

Re: Anorexic (borderline) Pregnant - Stages
the clinical definition really has more to do with a persons attitude about their weight. a patient with anorexia nervosa refuses to maintain a body weight of at least 85% of what is expected for their age and height (again, their attitude...they refuse). if you really want to get nitty gritty, the WHO under the ICD-10 classification of mental and behavioral disorders says that you can be considered anorexic if your BMI is less than 17.5 you also generally have to have a fear of gaining weight and have a disturbed perception about your body weight and shape. so its much, much more than just height and weight when saying someone is anorexic. if someone is just saying, "damn, that chick is anorexic" in a "hey shes skinny" kind of way, what they should just say is "hey, that chick has a BMI under 18.5 and is considered underweight" but i guess that doesnt sound as cool |

Re: Anorexic (borderline) Pregnant - Stages
Im about that size. Even smaller. And I don't have an eating disorder. Anorexic? Some people cant afford to be as big as a house or even normal size, but, it doesn't make them sick

This. ^ Only bones i see showing are her hip bones, just because she doesn't have rolls doesn't mean she's anorexic. My Mom was about the same size when she got pregnant with me; she never had an eating disorder as far as i know, just naturally thin - like me. |
