"Angel of Death" Injury
Contrary to the title, this guy didn't die. I'm posting this in the medical section because the injury is pretty fascinating. Here is the info: On 20 October, 2005 a Saudi Arabian soccer player (Abdul Rahman Al-Shoaibi) goes for a header and is accidently kicked in the neck. What happens next is a crazy seizure due to the trauma of the kick. Many of the people who witnessed the accident claim that the "Angel of Death"[URL="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azrael"]/URL] was responsible and claimed this guys life. Truth is, he was taken to a hospital and discharged. He played in the following weeks game with no permanent signs of damage. Pretty wicked injury though. |

Have not heard of that before, thanks for posting  I recall an Arsenal player who swallowed his tongue when he clashed with another player. They all went off so he could be tended to. When the players returned to continue the game, he was first on and keen to go!
