I had thrombosed (external) hemorrhoid years ago. Obviously not the same as this, but anything in that area hurts like hell. When the needle went in to numb up the area before lancing it, I slightly bent one of the small support bars on the side of the gurney.

I had one when I was about 15 years old. Thankfully mine healed quickly, and never came back. If they come back they need to do major surgery. It's so close to the tailbone which is dangerous
