Re: All About Rabies ..
sad shit but rabies remains without a cure once symptoms appear because the virus is highly neurotropic, rapidly invading the central nervous system, where it causes severe, irreversible damage. It evades immune detection by traveling along nerve pathways, and by the time symptoms manifest, the infection is too entrenched for the immune system or treatments to clear effectively. Current antiviral drugs and immunotherapies can't penetrate the blood-brain barrier sufficiently to target the virus in the brain. The rabies vaccine, given pre- or post-exposure (before symptoms), is highly effective because it stimulates immunity early, allowing the body to neutralize the virus before it reaches the nervous system. |

Re: All About Rabies ..
This is the best explantation I’ve read. Thx for typing it all out. I’ve read many descriptions of how rabies works, but this one I finally understand. |
