Re: Alive After Blowing Off Face During Attempted Suicide
Yup - it was a mess that should not have happened. I originally posted a question in the pictures section asking if anyone had still photos about a horrible accident with a video crew filming on a trestle when a train barreled down on them. Some of the film crew made it to safety, but some had to resort to holding tight to the sides of the trestle. One of their props, a hospital bed, had to be left on the tracks because there was no time to haul it off. The train hit the bed at 60mph. It blew the bed apart, many of the pieces hitting and injuring the crew holding tight to the trestle. Some were hurt badly. All survived but a 27-year old camera assistant who was knocked away from her hold on the trestle and fell onto the tracks where she was hit by the train and killed. Her friends who went to her aid after the train passed said that she was unrecognizable. Video cameras from the movie set had been running when this accident happened. However, those expensive cameras were being rushed off the tracks by camera crew who escaped in time. The video was shaky, unfocused and pointed the wrong way. That is why I asked about still photos. For some reason, I got resoundingly flamed with dozens of fuck-you's from the DR gallery. I finally posted one of the pictures of the guy who blew his face off and said here, maybe this will get you off my case. It did, but they wanted more info. I dug up more info and two more pictures which I posted. I edited my post to change the title from "Looking for Pictures..." to "Alive after Blowing off Face...". I left the original text in place and explained that I was doing so for historical purposes. One of the moderators fixed things up a bit and moved the post from "Pictures" to "Medical Problems". In the process, some of the text got mixed up. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! Maybe I'll edit it again and just get rid of the original question, most of which did not survive the move. |
