Never, never, ever, modify a power tool, and never use anything in that tool but what it is rated to use. First off he modified the tool by taking off the guard that all these tools have. Then he mounted a saw blade which it was never designed to use. He got what he had coming to him. ![]() Yes there are websites that tell you it's ok to use a saw blade on a grinder. They are fools and they get people hurt. Even with a standard shield the angle grinder is almost certain to hurt you used this way. There is no need to ever do this as there are other more appropriate tools designed to cut wood more safely. Hopefully this clown will survive with few problems once they reinstall his guts. |

I remember one of our Filipino deck crew doing just this with a 9 inch angle grinder. He adapted the blade of the wood saw, with the intention of cleaning paint off the decks. I gave him a ration of shit for it and told them not to be so fucking stupid! Looks like someone else had a similar idea... |
