Re: Abortions
Right. But SEEK & ye shall find. I am kinda an optomist. I know every case is different. But my experience has shown this can happen quite easily! The girl had SO many people who wanted to adopt HER baby, it was really cool to see her sift through all the potential adoptive parents. She corrosponded with some couples she liked, even a single woman. The couple she ended up selecting all got together many times during her pregnancy and by the time her baby was born, it went super smooth. What a gift. |

Re: Abortions
I'm not really trying to interject my opinion on this whole thing, but I would like to see these types of posts balanced out with pics and info on the horrid, painful, drawn out deaths that women and girls so often end up experiencing from illegal abortions - something that has been left out of the debates on this subject for a long time now, as with abortion being legal in the US, there is no frame of reference, no media coverage or exposure of the dark side of banning abortion. That's not to say that pro-lifers don't care about that, but if we're going to (understandably) get all sad faced and outraged over the loss of a potential life, we should also respect the loss of fully realised lives, losses that are caused by societies taking away all safe options from them (note that the majority of abortion-banning countries also hold birth control to be a cultural taboo, and at any rate are male dominated to a degree that the girls really have little choice as far as condoms go, while also not having good access to other methods). And before you say that those cultural elements are not in existance in the US, take a close look at the origins of the teen mother explosion in the African American section of the populace (hint, it's not poor education or racist nonsense). Again, I'm not saying that Pro-lifers are all wrong (I am pro life for my own decisions, pro-choice politically), just that if they want to talk bans, they need to focus on fixing the problems that come with those bans elsewhere and historically FIRST, because they will occur here as well without proper, realistic preperation. Then a dialogue can be carried out that will be much more productive I beleive.
