Re: Is Abortion Murder?

every situation is different so its easy to just sit here and say its murder but having been through this situation recently its really opened my eyes to this ongoing debate about abortion. in my situation we were told that our son was gravely ill and only had a 10% chance of survivng the birth let alone having a decent life if he survived the birth. he would be lucky to survive his 1st year. so we only had one option really. the day that we "murdered" my son will stay with me forever but the day my wife had too give birth to our son and i held his limp, lifeless body will haunt me forever. until you have been through the scenario yourself, its easy to judge people and call them murderers. i still struggle with the feeling of guilt.

Re: Is Abortion Murder?

first, the number of people willing to adopt is miniscule compared to the number of unwanted pregnancies - and I notice that most people who cry out about adoption aren't doing it, nor are they trying to fix a system that makes it exceedingly difficult to adopt and super easy for scumbags to do foster care. Second, for teens, going to term is much more dangerous than it is for an adult, and has long term affects on the girl's health because she is still developing...third, I would rather see a POTENTIAL life ended before it's begun than to watch that life and that of the mother who's already had a large amount invested in her by society go down the toilet just to assuage the consciences of people who sure as hell aren't going to help that mom raise that kid she didn't want in the first place...

And before someone chimes in with that stupid 'she shouldn't have spread her legs' crap, try to remember that the human sex drive is the most powerful instinct in nature's arsenal - capable of over-riding our instinct for self preservation, let alone the much more cerebral concerns like promise rings or whether the guy is wearing a rubber...that's why my daughter is going on the pill the moment she starts to bleed...doesn't matter how well I raise her, all it takes is one moment of weakness or one unattended drink...

And speaking of the pill, I find it incredible that so many pro lifers are the ones trying to limit access to birth control and info on it as well...I don't care if the stupid bible says be fruitfull and multiply, we're already running about twenty times over what it needs to be to be sustainable - we don't need any more!

Okay, that's just my opinion, flame it all you want, you're not gonna change it.

Re: Is Abortion Murder?

I am not part of this poll, but I say "no." However, it is a real POS form of birth control.

Re: Is Abortion Murder?

Before the 12th week, no, after the 12th week YES. A 12 week old fetus cannot sustain itself out of the womb.

Re: Is Abortion Murder?

Before the point of viability (I think that's classed as 20 weeks here in the UK, pretty sure that's where our law says it's illegal), or for the good of the mother's health, no I don't consider it murder.
