Well, I'll just lay my heart out on the table.......I was an unwanted baby. My mother had me and put me into the foster care system. To make a loooooong story short, as a result, I am a barely functioning human being. On psych meds and spend most of my days on sites like these. A lot of the time I wish I had not been born. There are millions of people like me, the chance of a child of foster care actually being a functioning member of society is less than 3%. I am pro choice from the unwanted babies point of view. Look at Manson and tell me abortion should not have been an option there....

Isnt it funny though that almost all the women on this site/this arguement have put across intelligent arguements and reasons for being pro choice yet all the ignorant 'should have kept her legs closed stupid whore' comments come from men!

If you decide that you cannot cope with raising a child, then surely it is better to abort in the first few weeks when it is just a few cells? FYI in the UK early abortions, up to 12 weeks are done by a vaccum, up to 18 weeks are surgical abortions, and up to 24 weeks are induced miscarriages. No saline involved, that went out with the dark ages.....

IMO 24 weeks is too late, as they are formed babies, as in the pictures, and I think they should only be undertaken if the mothers life is at risk. In the Home | Mail Online today, a baby was born at 23 weeks and survived.

The babies in the pictures are quite a few months old, they are not pictures of regular early abortions. I would say they are extremely rare abortions. The closest to a regular early abortion is the bottom pic but even that fetus is barely 15 weeks.....most abortions take place before 10 weeks.

After some of the narrow minded, stupid comments Ive read over the years, It just makes me glad that women have the final decision.

I am also pro-choice, but I so agree that anyone thinking of going through with an abortion should know every fact, especially how developed the fetus really is at the time and give them a play by play of how horrible the procedure really is they may reconsider. I went to my first doctors appointment when I was 5 weeks pregnant and was stunned when I saw my daughters heartbeat on the ultrasound monitor, so many of us think it is just a mass in the first three months, I guess we always have something to learn.

damn...that shit sucks, but what can you do? if doctors arent allowed to do it, then people will go back to the old coat-hanger method, taking way too many drugs, or binge drinking. whatever they can do to get rid of the baby. then, they're both in harms way, or, if it fails, the baby will be born super fucked up and live a horrible life. im torn between prolife and prochoice.
