Re: Abdominoplastia
For people like me, it doesn't matter how much you exercise and eat right, the slimmer you get, the more of a loose pouch you get at your lower abdomen. These types of surgeries help us lose the excess skin.

Re: Abdominoplastia
Exercise can only tone the underlying muscles. It can not ever remove excess skin. The fat deposits can be thinned but not removed. Also pregnancy stretches the abdominal wall. Quite often in some women no amount of exercise brings it back to original shape but exercise can help indeed. Surgery will of course remove the pouch that has formed over years.

Re: Abdominoplastia
My mom had this done. She had 3 pregnancies in which she was huge (she's really tiny!!) so there was lots of excess skin. Also the pregnancies had pulled apart her abdominal muscles so they were on the sides of her stomach, instead of attached in the middle. All the dieting and sit ups in the world wouldn't fix those. The doctor went in and pulled her abdominal muscles back together and cut off the excess skin. At 113 lbs, it wasn't because she was fat. Huge difference now....

Re: Abdominoplastia
Women do naturally have more body fat since our bodies were designed to bear children. After extreme weight loss, there are also excess amounts of skin. Some people also have medical issues and cannot exercise and as we get older, it gets harder. I believe most of our body shapes are heredity. If it makes you feel better, go for it! I wanted to have this surgery, but, my doctor thought I was crazy! I'd be afraid to have any surgery that wasn't for survival. If I were to get that flesh eating bacteria, I'd never forgive myself. I want Lasik surgery, too, but, if my doctor sneezed or something, again, I'd never forgive myself for having sight and losing it. If people don't like me, I simply don't like them :)

Re: Abdominoplastia
Thank you for that point of view!! I get it because I have had 4 kid's and COMPLETLY understand the whole lower pouch issue!! I guess I see this as easy because at this time in my life I have watched my daughter absolutely transform her body by eating right and excersing, but again, she has not had children so I get it!! |
