61 Year Old Monk Fournier’s Gangrene Surgery
Fournier’s gangrene is a rare and often fulminant necrotizing fasciitis of the perineum and genital region frequently due to a synergistic polymicrobial infection. This truly emergent condition is typically seen in elderly, diabetic, or otherwise immune compromised individuals. In this case a 61 year old monk receives surgery for this condition.

Damn. Without removal of all that dead tissue the poor guy would have faced a slow and painful death.
